sweet.

where is Ean anyway, he's been a bit low profile lately. Is he too busy touring with the bad shepherds?

Hmmm. Great band, bad live band. I'll be getting the album but will give my local date a miss.

I saw them in Bristol when they were still touring "Bleed American" (or the self-titled album as it became). Absolutely loved the album and then when I saw them they were utterly lifeless. Didn't speak, didn't move, and just didn't sound very good either. I was gutted because I thought - and still think - that they're a great band. Maybe an off night. I'm getting the album for definite. I might have taken a punt on the gig anyway, but compounding my previous experience, they're returning to my least favourite venue in the world... a place I only go if I really love the act in question.

I'm normally pretty easy to please too. Case in point: I loved Gorillaz at Glastonbury this year when the world and his wife seems to have regarded their headline appointment as a mistake...

I'll admit they weren't brilliant the first time I saw them, and opening with one of your slow introspective ones doesn't exactly get the room bouncing, but they've come on a lot since then, and as markE says, they were excellent last time around. :)

Mind you, if you hate the venue there's probably no saving the evening...?

they were great at Brixton on tuesday. a brilliant setlist with loads off clarity and the new one. I thought that once again, crowd movement etc was pretty lack lustre except for one area near the front middle that i couldn't physically reach as it was rammed. loved the gig though.
