Ten and a half thousand votes were cast. I can't help thinking that there must have been some bands that set some major voting campaigns in motion, so it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top. I did my bit for bands I help out, but nothing on that sort of scale...

Big congratulations to Trudi and also to Eureka Machines for their 'Video of the year' award.
Still waiting to find out the other results. Seems Sworn to Oath won a fair few.

He's everywhere, that Dark Lord. I briefly spoke to him once, not knowing that was who he was. Then a friend of mine from different circles went and spoke to him at the end of the gig. As we left I asked if he knew him and he said "I haven't seen the Dark Lord of Barnet in ages". So basically, his reputation precedes him, and in a good way. At least I know who you are now for next time... :D

Thank you everyone who slung me a vote! I am chuffed to bits to know so many lovely people :D
As you may have noticed I have kept pretty quiet in the run-up to this, mainly due to a certain level of unease about being nominated and being a Pure Rawk contributor (and there has been a small amount of petty accusatory twattery since the results were announced, to which I say "balls"!).

Congrats to all winners and nominees. Over 10500 votes is pretty amazing; if the level of support shown to people in these awards was the norm for musical shennanigans in general, I bet we'd see far fewer venues closing!

Ironic that The Gaff got venue of the year and has subsequently closed. :(

Indeed - I used to be there a lot. It seemed like it was 'our' place - great staff. cool and friendly atmosphere, cheap door tax, and low booze prices - especially for members. A bunch of us really miss that place. :(

Yes, as Ean noted previously - it was indeed me. As I said at the time - I am not worthy. I didn't really do anything much to deserve an award - unlike Trudi who has put in a great deal of work travelling all over the country photographing many bands - often under difficult conditions. And she's rather good at it! In fact I saw her in action at last night's Wolfsbane gig at the Borderline.

Well done to all the other award winners - great to see some bands and musicians, etc getting some well deserved credit for their efforts. It was a very enjoyable night - sorry to anyone who said hello (on the night or any other time before or in the future) if I didn't know who you were - I have a terrible memory for names/faces at the best of times, and alcohol doesn't help matters. And thanks to anyone who voted for me - I guess some people must have although I can't imagine why. :coat:

Just wanted to say I'd never heard Supercharger 'til I read this post, playin' 'em now and lovin' it. WIll search for live dates - assume they cut the mustard live [d'oh! Course they will]. Congrats to winners as above.
