BBC 4 Rockumentaries

Postby Jules » 21st Jan 11, 21:50

For anyone stuck in on a Friday night, or with access to BBC iplayer next week, BBC4 is running a series of rock programmes tonight. I think they've all been on before.

9pm - A portrait of Thin Lizzy
10pm - Iron Maiden - Flight 666
11.55pm - Classic Albums - Black Sabbath - Paranoid
12.50am - Bruce springsteen
3.20am a repeat of the Thin Lizzy one

They will be here under the iplayer once they have been shown:

Thin Lizzy. Bad Reputation. Was a new documentary. Fairly enjoyable too. Brilliant band.

not really, and i'd have loved it if they'd held fire just a bit and got some footage from the current tour with Ricky. Still, quite enjoyable.

It was funny seeing Robbo (who looked quite fucked up) directly contradicting their producer about there being overdubs on 'Live & Dangerous'! Pity Gary Moore didn't talk to them. Did they not ask him, of did he refuse I wonder? :hmmm:

I loved the fact that Gary Moore was in and out like a revolving door. I have a gatefold 7inch of Moore / Lynott doing 'Out In The Fields' somewhere.... ace!

I didn't know that much about Thin Lizzy so found this a great starting point. I was speaking to a mate at the weekend who didn't think much of their music, but saw them live relatively recently (not with Ricky Warwick though) and was totally blown away .... and I mean totally blown away.
