Foo Fighters' White Limo

Postby Radish » 15th Feb 11, 13:41

Has anybody else heard/seen this? I can honestly say that the first time I heard it I thought it was something from the Ginger/Wildhearts/Mutation project. Doesn't necessarily sound like Ginger singing, but doesn't totally not sound like him either. Or is it just me? I think I like it, bit edgier than some of their stuff that strays a bit too MOR for me.

if the whole album's like this, it might be the first Foos album i actually fork out cash for...
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

Fricken excellent! Anything that the Lem associates himself with is going to be cool.
cause the chances are good that it wont let you down, like maybe drinking with Keith, or seeing Dolly Parton's tits...

I just can't stop thinking of the 'Hearts-esque sound, connections between Ginger, Lemmy and Dave Grohl (well there was at least one picture of them eating in LA or something), and the prospect of the GingerWildheartMutation supporting Foos at MK Bowl this summer...

Now that would be a line-up, GWM, Motorhead, Foos.

Yup-it's good,no doubt.
Been waiting for them to do summat more like 'Monkey Wrench' for years..
But the references to Ginger's Mutation Project confuse me a bit...I'm expecting FAR MORE from Mutation than this.Don't get me wrong,it's not a question of having particular expectations or really high standards,it's just...while this tune is really good and it's always great to see Lemmy-Ginger writes songs that are just so much better...as a songwriter,I love Ginger's stuff because it's really rare that I hear anything from him that's formulaic or predictable, and I'm not just talking about wierd time-changes and complicated riffs,he has such an individual style that other bands just don't come close to,in my opinion.White Limo, while it's a good tune that makes me more exited to hear more new stuff from Foo Fighters, just isn't what I want from Ginger.I can think of loads of bands who could've recorded this tune...and that's my point,it's good(if not great) for the Foo Fighters(a band who've consistantly come close-but-no-cigar with their song-writing to me),but Ginger could've churned it out in his sleep.
If this is as good as Mutation gets,I'll be really suprised... :brow:
