Don't say that, it means I have to go back and finish the album off now!

Seriously, there's some great stuff in the second half like Back and Forth and Walk, nothing like the first few songs. A lot more upbeat.
and just last week as i was clearing shit from off my shelf...

I've never listened to a full FF album!
I'm liking most of this after a couple of listens, liking it lots.
I'd say 2/3rds of it is outstanding, the rest just good, nothing BAD

Parts of Back & Forth do remind me of this though:

I love Roger Manning! If there's a track on the Foos' new album that sounds like that I'll be getting it sooner than I thought.

Everyone, listen to Roger Manning, he's ace! :D

Have to say that the chorus to "Back and Forth" is the most Wildhearts-esq piece of music I've heard.
cause the chances are good that it wont let you down, like maybe drinking with Keith, or seeing Dolly Parton's tits...

Errr yeah.. I didn't quite mean that the song sounds like something RM would produce, it's everything but, just that there's a familiar guitar part/melody somewhere on the FF track that brought that song to mind!

Roger can rock!

May be the Queen influence they have in common coming through. Don't want to listen to the stream, much rather wait until I have the disc in my hands. Looking forward to it.

After giving sufficient listen to a non-shitty website stream I must declare this album to be an absolute stonker.

The intensity on Walk from about 2:45 onwards is something else

I saw their film "Back and Forth" last night, which was very interesting, and was followed by a complete live performance of the new record, made only two days prior. Yeah, it's not The Colour and The Shape, on the grounds that very few things are, but it is good.

There is an interview-type-thing-with-bits-of-live-footage-thrown-in-for-good-measure on channel 4 tomorrow night/morning at 12:10am for those interested.

For what it's worth, I think Walk is an absolute classic, up there with their best stuff. Here they are, performing it (and Rope) on Saturday Night Live: http://grungereport.net/?p=4026

Their new album is very Wildhearts in places.

Been loving it so far, and it's great to see Mssrs Smear back on planet rock.

Does anyone know if the covers album Medium Rare is getting a CD release anywhere other than as a gift for subscribers to Q? Would like the album but really don't want to subscribe to that magazine.
