Exit_International - 'Black Junk'

Postby Scottleeandrews » 25th Aug 11, 19:33

Hello all - Scott from Exit_International here.

I've been a WH's fan since I walked through Merthyr town centre looking for change to make up the £3.99 to buy the Sick of Drugs single from woolies - Avid fans who were at the Forum show in 2003 (I think) where Ginger proposed to my girlfriend at the time for me...... :?

Anywho, My band Exit_International supported Ginger in Birmingham for the Download warm-up....and needless to say we had quite polarised opinions from the crowd. If I told you Endless Nameless is my personal fave, you'd probably see why. The fact we have two bassists and no guitar is always the starting talking point.

Exit_International are releasing our debut album 'Black Junk' in the UK on September the 19th via Undergroove records. It's out in Japan at the moment via Vinyl Junkie.

If you fancy checking us out: http://www.exitinternational.co.uk - there's details where to pre-order the album and various packages.

Hope you guys are all good - hopefully catch you live somewhere soon.

Cheers,

Scott

I might have heard said album already... 8-)

...and it might be completely brilliant. One of my favourite albums of the year. SO excited to have these guys and Hawk Eyes out on tour with us.

Col - you are absolutely right.
We use the frequencies to really 'kick home' the music.
It's really accessible to be honest, but it does test people's endurance to get to the melody beneath the noise!

Hope you enjoy and see you mate you in December!

I have the Japan release in my possession.
Despatched on Tuesday, arrived this morning from Japan, now that's service!

Fan interaction wins out again, I was going to wait to see a gig before getting it but the message on here combined with the Youtube videos sold it to me.

>>Listen to half of two songs on the Myspace player via laptop speakers
>>press stop, close website
>>Head to Undergroove records, pre purchase album + EP
>>???
>>profit?

SRSLY though, have pre ordered and will not be listening to any more until I have it on CD via my living room hi fi. I like the sound of what little I have heard a great deal.

As you may have guessed from all of the posts about the current Ginger tour, Exit_International are going down a storm. Saw them at Leeds and they were brilliant. A bit weird but a lot brutal. Rushed straight off to buy 'Black Junk' from the guys at the merch stand.
If you're catching any of the other shows make sure you get down early to catch them.
They're nice guys as well which makes supporting them really easy.

BJ was album of 2011 for me. Hugely exciting band which has actually got me into playing bass more than guitar (to the detriment of my pocket, EHX POG (nod to Ginger for that one) combined with Blackstar DISTX makes some randy bass noise).

I don't know who I am looking forward to more, Exit International or Ginger. I will be there early, and full of Buckfast. Seems fitting, somehow.

Thought these guys were good the first time I saw them (Leeds) and excellent at the birthday bash last night. Am loving the videos they've got up of last night too.
I'm off to buy the album, hope to catch another show soon. :mosh:

I'm listening to the album on Spotify right now. I'm liking it a lot and it's on my list to buy. Has a very Jon Spencer feel in a number of places. This is the sort of the thing that the NME might be able to love if they weren't so achingly hipster.
