Albums Of The Year 2011

Postby WorldClassFad » 22nd Dec 11, 13:04

Work is a little slow today, so I thought I'd start a best records of 2011 thread. I've got to admit I'm a sucker for these end of year lists.

In no real order:

Nothington - Borrowed Time
Ryan Adams - Ashes & Fire
Fucked Up - David Comes To Life
Frank Turner - England Keep My Bones
The Copyrights - North Sentinel Island
Butch Walker - The Spade
The King Blues - Punk & Poetry
Banner Pilot - Heart Beats Pacific
The Horrible Crowes - Elsie
Tommy Stinson - One Man Mutiny
Rival Schools - Pedals
Social Distortion - Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes

So, what were your big sounds of 2011?

this guy is a friend of mine & as prolific a songwriter as Ginger! he released an album this year under the name RETARDED COP & it fucking rocks. this song is about the time he took too much mdma & lsd & got arrested featuring the classic line "i'm leaving, i'm flying class A & i won't be back til yesterday"

Loving 'Sharp Objects' - reminds me a little of The Explosion
Sonic Avenues also tickle my fancy
Retarded Cop also sounds great!

The rest I can find to download, so will say if I like 'em once I'm... well, sober
I think I
ll re-evaluate 'em all when I've got a clear head, but promising... very promising...
