Noticed a few people metnioned Wolfsbane Saves The World

tbh I'd never actually heard any Wolfsbane, let alone being aware of a new album

but fuck me, I may not have had it in 2011, but it's not 'officially out yet anyway is it... so the first album for my Album Of The Year 2012..

Wolfsbane Saves The World

fuck it's good

I feel like I'm overdoing this thread, but this album is also fantastic - I'd heard the popular singles on I think Fifa12 and a TV advert without ever thinking 'who is this' but the album itself is also a thing of anthemic beauty

I didn't realise this was 2011. I had look for a date and only saw that it had been recorded during 2010. If it was a 2011 album I'm definitely adding it to my list.

Let me see, 2011 was an absolutely astonishing year for music...

alphabetically, stuff you guys might want to check out, or that has been mentioned as being ace before in bold -

Brett Anderson - Black Rainbows (solo album by the singer from Suede, actually an incredible album)
Chris Cornell - Songbook (live album, but just Cornell with an acoustic guitar playing songs from throughout his career)
Danger Mouse/Daniele Lupi - Rome
Dive Dive - Potential
Eureka Machines - Champion the Underdog
Exit_International - Black Junk
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
Jane's Addiction - The Great Escape Artist
Kasabian - Velociraptor
LaFaro - Easy Meat
Mastodon - The Hunter
Mojo Fury - Visiting Hours of a Travelling Circus
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Screaming Trees - Last Words
The Suede re-issues
Turbowolf - Turbowolf

phew, next year probably won't live up to this...
and just last week as i was clearing shit from off my shelf...

My top three (off the top of my head) would have been Champion The Underdog by Eureka Machines, Cursed by The Scaramanga Six and Zonoscope by Cut/Copy, but that said I'm forgetting an absolute ton of stuff.

I'm ashamed to realise that I haven't bought enough albums released last year to do a top ten. So I've just been on an internet shopping spree, will be making up for that shortly. In the meantime, here are my (somewhat predictable) top picks:

Eureka Machines - Champion the Underdog
The Scaramanga Six - Cursed
Black Spiders - Sons of the North
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
Exit_International - Black Junk

(I've also bought the Kiss Alive II CD, obviously, but it's not in the list 'cos it's a live album.)

I didn't even realised they'd released anything. Poor show by me. :coat:
Ah well. Another one to add to my 2011 catch up after payday.

It's incredible, a massive step up from Scatter the Crow. Huge shame they've split up.
