How To Post Images To The Board

As I've been asked a few times about this, I figured I might as well put it all in a post for anyone who needs it. Image

Plus (and I'm sure you can't tell), I've got a new toy to play with on my computer Image

Posting Images To The Board

Uploading Your Image

Step 1

If you don't have one, get yourself an account with a hosting site. For the purpose of this tutorial, I'm using Photobucket.

Sign into your account.

Step 2

You'll be presented with your Album page with the Upload box at the top.

Image

To begin uploading click on the Choose Files button.

Step 3

When the box pops up, browse through the files stored on your computer and find the image you want to upload.

Image

Left Click the image so that the title appears in the File Name box then click Open.

Image

Your selected image will begin uploading automatically.

NOTE - If you want to upload more than one image at once, hold down CTRL while you select the various images.

Once uploading is complete, this box...

Image

...Will appear while the Album page refreshes to show your new images.

Step 4

To give your image a title, simply Click to add title

Image

Put your title in the box that appears, and click OK

Image

Resizing Your Image

If you have photo-manipulation software on your computer and have already resized your images, skip to the next section.

Please be aware though, that some Listees are on less-than-lightspeed connections so try to keep images to roughly 600 x 400 pixels - it also helps stop the edges of the Board from distorting too much.

Full page magazine scans can be larger - so you can actually read them Image - around 1000px on the short edge is usually enough.

Step 1

To begin resizing, find the image you want to resize and click on it.

Image

Step 2

When the full size image appears, mouseover the Resize button.

Select 'Message Board (640 x 480)' from the drop down menu.

Image

Then click OK when the dialog box appears.

Image

The 'Image Resized' screen will appear.

Image

Step 3

Click the link at the top left to return to your Album

Image

Posting your Image

Step 1

Click on Post Reply in the appropriate thread to open an empty 'Post A Reply' box.

Image

Step 2

Open Photobucket in a new window and find the Image you want to post.

You need to use 'IMG code' to display on the Board, so click on the last of the four options.

Image

The bit of code you need will be copied into your clipboard.

NB. There is currently a bug in PhotoBucket that stops users of Flash 10 (All other versions seem to be unaffected) from using the link-copy method described above.

To bypass this, right click on the actual piece of [IMG] code in the white box to highlight it and select copy from the context menu.

Step 3

Go back to your empty Reply box.

With the cursor over the text box, Right Click and Paste the code into the box.

Image

Step 4

Submit the Post

Et Voila! Image

Image

Apologies for the shocking photo. Image

Do you know how to guarantee a good omelette turning out? With me, it's 50-50 whether it'll be an omelette or scrambled eggs.

Hah! You're on yer own with that one. My photoshop skills are decidedly dicey.

As it happens, yes!

It's all about getting your pan as hot as you can, with plenty of oil in it, before you put the omelette mix in - which should be fluffy, whisked eggwhites with seasoned yolks folded in - then all your flavourings sprinkled on top once it's in the pan. Once it's browned underneath and you can move it around just by gently shaking the pan, stick it under a hot grill to brown off the top - not too much that it dries out though, then serve by tipping it half onto a plate and folding it onto itself. :P

I'm hungry now... :?

Next!

Only cuz I havent been around this weekend.

Im thinking of pitching a show to the bbc called Challenge Beany, where each week someone sets Ean a new challenge just to see if theres anything he cant do, so far I have the folloing episodes planned

1- Ean tries out pole dancing
2- Ean tries out alchemy
3- Ean tries to be a lion for the day
4- Ean tries to do the macarena
5- Ean tries to become a cake
6- Ean tries to distance himself from a crap idea for a tv show

Any other ideas?

swap the macarena for "ean tries breakdancing."

the macarena's too easy. i was pissed once, and started dancing the macarena to "can't stop" by RHCP, and the whole club joined in, all instinctively knowing how to do it. it was an amazing moment, where all the minds in the room converge into a giant throbbing ball of awareness, all focused on the forces of alcohol-induced cheesy dancing.

anyway....
