i only managed to get the cars and vaginas single, but i bought the album 'a break in the weather' and with the exception of 'i'm a lover' 'you me and bt' and 'i'm not bitter' i thought it was probabley the worst stuff ginger's done!! i think i've only listened to it 5 times, i even prefered the clam abuse album!!

What do you mean, even preferred the Clam Abuse album?! Clam Abuse was fantastic!

Much as I love the Singles Club, now Valor's here the difference in quality really is apparent.

I think every single thing Ginger has produced is fantastic and way above ALL other music. It's just that each project has a very different feel.

Clam Abuse was excellent, Break in the Weather is outstanding and you really get the feeling a good time was had by all in the recording sessions.

Valor and Earth Vs are his best yet though.

Not sure if Infernal still exsist. I guess not. I know Dante Bunatto was the guy running it.

Might be worth gettting hold of him. I think he writes a column for Classic Rock magazine.

I'll see if I can get an e-mail address.

I did get a refund! I also paid the £60 up front and if my memory serves me correctly, I first went via Ask Ginger on the website, he replied and said he had no idea what was happening with the singles club and that if I'd paid up front I'd been ripped off. So onto soapbox I jumped, I emailed Classic Rock magazine because Dante Bonutto was a contributor to it and explained the situation with the Singles Club. The editor at the time (can't remember his name now Mick....) emailed me back with Dante's email address and I contacted him directly and after several emails backwards and forwards where I was assured I'd get the cd's, he eventually sent me a cheque for the cd's that I didn't receive with a very apologetic letter!

I will have to see if I still have that letter or his email address, this is going back a few years now!

It would certainly be interesting also to hear the other stuff that didn't see the light of day as mentioned previously in this thread.

Just wanted to mention that I really enjoyed the artwork on those singles too.

Ginger doesn't seem to waste his songs though, they pop up (ooer) and crossover into other projects he's involved with, so there is a possibility that we've already heard them. lol..

The new album though is like what you'd expect from the genius songwriter, but it's got this whole progressive slant on it. A natural evolution?.. Where does he go next?..

I managed to get all five, but would be interested in knowing what the other songs were for the rest of em and if the Ginger Haired one plans on releasing them in the future?

I don;t *think* they were ever even actually recorded. I know one of them was going to be featuring Alex Kane (which shows how long ago this was all planned!)

T.W.A.T. (which is on 'a break in the weather', and was going to be a singles club release) features Alex Kane on it :D

You know what Ginge is like though. Never lets a good song lay unrecorded. All those in favour of another 'Fishing For Luckies' style album say Why Aye!

mine i got via :

cars - local independant shop , and then ' and this time .. ' the next month

virtual love was available in larger quantites in hmv

found ' i'm a lover' for 99p ina specialist dealers who clearly had no clue :P

------------

RE the other songs - IIRC in the liner notes for 'A Break In The Weather ' , they never got to record the second half of the singles club , the plan being 2 blocks of 12 songs .
