I've had a few requests recently for the SECURITY demos, so In the spirit of good housekeeping and general 'spring cleaning' this would seem like the appropriate place to put them up.
There are 11 tracks in all which anyone who wants is more than welcome to download from the link below..they're all in M4a format..any probs then pm me and I'll convert to mp3s.
remember these are demos only ..so apologies for quality..angry songs for tough times! Enjoy!

Yeah thanks Jay that's awesome, I only had the 3 Security demos from your website ages ago!

Can you shed some light on this music-for-TV/radio/adverts CD mentioned in this thread though: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4422 - it sounds like Chris McCormack/Ritch Battersby's reworking of potentially some unused Security/Grand Theft Audio demos (10 Reasons Your Wrong is on there for example).

I was wondering if these were originally Security/GTA tracks, as some sound like the original words have been removed and replaced with new (less good, heh) lyrics ("Empty Souls" for example has a big hook that sounds like a chorus with no vocals).

yeah, I remember the album you're talking about.
I know they re-worked 'ten reasons' as Ritchy and I wrote that one, I can't remember if me or Chris played guitar on that version..as for the other tracks, I THINK they mostly date from the 'black dog theory' era (pre-security..post GTA) which would mean they were mainly Ritchy's tune/ideas either end of GTA or begining of security. I can't be sure which tracks are Chris's as I wasn't really involved at that point.
Ritchy, Ralph and myself demoed a 2nd album for GTA..I used to have a copy somewhere..but seem to remember none of us were very happy with the songs..so it's probably been binned!
I don't actually have a copy of the TV album so I'm a bit fuzzy at to what ended up on it, I'm sure there's probably a few Black dog theory tracks knocking about tho!
Hope that helps a little!
Jay

That's cool, good to be able to put a bit of context into it! Incidentally you can hear the tracks on the TV album "Extreme Rock" here: http://www1.playkmusik.com/pages/viewcd ... cdnum=4028

Any news on any more potential Grand Theft Audio gigs? Or any new material? ;)

p.s. saw you guys way, way back in the Cavern in Exeter, it was cool!

thanks!
no never released anything, unfortunately the band didn't really ever get further than Ritchys and my imagination ha ha ha!..I'm still slightly bummed we never got to record properly (the demo's were recorded in my front room!)
we spoke about it the other day and thought we might as well let anyone who wants em have em..I still think it was a pretty good heavy band..woulda been enormous recorded properly.
Trouble was it was a pretty turbulent time for different reasons for both of us and we just couldn't keep it going and keep our lives on track!
Ah well ..'a good idea attempted' and all that!..total antidote to GTA..and good old Jon could play the shit out of a guitar!

Thanks for the link..I'll check it out!
as for GTA..we had a great time in brum last November..so we've all agreed it would be great to do some shows in 2010..I'm sure you'll all be the first to know as soon as there's anything to know!
as for new material..I've been writing again with Ralph for GTA..but we're really only just getting started with it..and again it's a bit tricky cos of the distances involved between us all..but we were all inspired to write after playing together again so it looks hopeful!
..god exeter cavern!..I seem to remember a girl getting knocked unconscious during the 'punk rock line dance' I used to get everyone to do in 'dead men leaving'..scary stuff...I've got a lot to answer for really ha ha ha! there's some poor girl somewhere with a flat spot on her head thanks to me.
cheers!

I really hope so - GTA were a great live band and I really enjoyed the Garage and Barfly shows - so it would be great if you could play in London again.
