London 18th

What an awesome night! great fun and it somewhat made up for missing the previous evening's shenanignas due to illness. I actually said i'd take it easy, not bounce about too much and not sing so I didn't wrck myself again - That lasted less than the time necessary to get the band onstage
Loved the line-up, thought the three guitar attack sounded tight and incredibly powerful, and Victoria's vocals added new layers to the massed harmonies. Denzel and Random were superb as always. Particular highlights were Splattermania (my most favourite least-played song), and TV Tan with the one-and-only CJ; but it was an absolutely cracking set that careered all over the back catalogue, included some rarities and underplayed classics and never hit a dud. That's some legacy the ginger bloke's got!
Got shafted by Transport for London though, late getting us there and then the last train left before we'd got out out of the venue despite being first in line for the cloakroom and leaving before we had a chance to say goodbye to our fellow listees. :grr:

Amoral of the story: fuck trying to get home for a good night's sleep before work, just stay late get pissed and plead illness the next day.

Oh and in other news last night marked the first Ginger gig for Beerofthedark Jr, albeit he had a restricted view due to not being due until next year.

You have to start em off early! :D

Fantastic night - band looked like they were loving it. Ginger looking a bit misty-eyed at times (or pissed?!). Shame they didn't play Vernix; had been looking forward to hearing that live... but hell, the rest was great, and we got CJ and TV Tan to make up for it. Slaughtered Authors was a.may.zing.

Ears still suffering today - always a good sign.

I bloody loved last night - top end to the gigging year!

Special thanks to Ruth and Andy for insisting on holding my camera bag so I could spend most of the night dancing around like a twat. :bounce:

I still hurt following on from the aftershow. Dear lord. It was lovely to meet those of you I rambled at over the course of the weekend. Now on a train home, 6 hours to go.... Yaaay.

it was a fantastic show. great setlist and good party vibe. plus it was my gf's first time seeing ginger live in any incarnation, and she was not left disappointed. well, except by the thieving bastard who stole her purse out of her bag during the show. shame on you. you have no place in this community.

To the post above, it was no doubt one of the two pricks I had to get security on to. Kept aiming pints at folk, then grabbed my arse & then proceeded to spit drinks all over me after security had a word. They were late 30s, pathetic wee men. Glad your missus enjoyed it, despite some twats.

Why must people be like that? There was also at least one phone theft (Ginger seemed embarrassed when it was brought to his attention), and someone else had their boots stolen when they temporarily took them off outside the venue. How sad is it possible for some people to be?

Hope nobody's enjoyment of the night was spoiled by anything stupid going on, because that was a heck of a gig - actually even better than the birthday show, I thought.

I was ready to smack one of the guys, but decided to calm down & just get them chucked out instead (I didn't ask for that to happen, but the security had told them to stay away from me & it seems they were starting shit with other people in the crowd). I wasn't letting them ruin a brilliant night for me. Some absolute sweetheart beside us went to get security to help me when I was squaring up to one of the guys.

No idea why they believe acting like arseholes is what everyone wants to happen at a gig. Shame about folk getting stuff nicked. Though I did see crowdsurfers trainers (maybe at the birthday gig) getting yoinked off, haha. Deserved.

Yeah I had a great time. Quite the most amazing weekend for music really, with the Manics on Saturday and Ginger on Sunday. Merry Christmas!

Snap Wildcat - two very different gigs, vibes and venues, but both great.

Wondered what was going on when I saw a couple of guys getting bundled out near the end. Shame that peoples evenings would have been spoiled by thievery and twattiness by a few fannybaws, as it really was a great show and a great vibe.

PS - anyone sober or clever enough to remember the setlist?

I didnt go this year as I already was booked in for a Xmas party by my mate. I was gutted!!

Getting to people who spoil gigs - I was at the Accoustic show @ The borderline back in May.

Apart from being an excellent gig by Ginger, my night was almost ruined by two people, who can only be described as cunts, trying to get on stage and grab Gingers attention at every waking moment.

I said to my mate If I see them on the way home or on the train ill fucking knock them out.

Any ways - glad it was a great gig for all those that went.
