kinda disappointed

Having caught one of the legs of this tour I am now feeling disappointed that the big man has called a halt to his live performances for the forseeable. To be honest it's the most impressed I've been for a long time by both the quality of setlist and band. I tend to be less enthusiastic about performances of the old 'standard 'and 'safe' material but the class of material and delivery this time round has me wishing G would build from here.I maybe old fashioned and my musical taste somewhat 'underground'....now there's a dinosaur of a word...but in my eyes G could take this show and sell it to any audience that appreciate real music and I would love to see him write more material of this ilk .Maybe that's just me though, but the show I saw has left me wanting more and wondering if it's another case of REAL music disappearing to leave us with more and more manufactured and shallow crap than it's possible to endure..... but thanks for this memory anyway G

Whilst it's a bit of a shame that we won't see any Ginger live action for a while, it's understandable really that he'd want to take a bit of time out. He's been pretty constant over the past couple of years with solo acoustic and band tours and also working on TFE and the triple album. With young bairns it must be really difficult being away from them for a long time.

I'm sure he'll be back when he's good and ready. It's not like we haven't had great long stretches of no activity before...and he has a v. good reason for wanting a break. Have faith. :)

don't get me wrong.... I fully understand the reasons for the man's decision... but over the past few years having seen WH ,Sonic Circus and solo shows this tour has been a breath of fresh air and, personally speaking , a cut above what has been at times predictable performances .... and a tour which could have perhaps inspired G to even greater heights and the resultant tours .... you can disagree with me but I'm all for evolution in an artist and I think G and the band displayed a musical progression on this tour.... so ,as I say ,the break comes at an unfortunate but understandable time

all going well, we'll have four albums to enjoy next year (pledge & TFE) & i bet there'll be a birthday bash next year. when he does finally start playing live again i'd absolutely love if he played no WH songs whatsoever & trawled through the solo back catalogue Black Leather Mojo, Valor & Market Harbour in particular...man that would be sweet!
