Ginger To Play Download Festival

Postby Assmask » 26th Jan 12, 13:41

Made you look!

Anyway, I'm betting that his good news is that he's at Download. I've asked him via Formspring, so I'm guessing if he doesn't answer then we're on.

With Metallica's Black album and Ugly Kid Joe already confirmed, Ginger being there as well would be enough to make this a stella year.

My wife and I have already booked our 5 day tickets. Anyone else going?

MOD EDIT: Ginger has been added to the line up for Download 2012.

More details will follow as and when we get them.

(ASSMASK EDIT: I can verify this as fact. Take it from me peeps, mod is correct on this occasion)

I'm assuming he'll be there too - said on Formspring last week that he was hoping to go 'in some form', so...

I'm really tempted to go this year, but am holding off because a) there was a rumour Faith no More are doing Sonisphere which would swing it for me and b) the dates aren't ideal, but I can maybe fit it in.

Undecided but very tempted. Ugly Kid Joe, Little Angels, Black album (though they play most of this anyway), Biffy, Sabbath, Soungarden, Anthrax, Prodigy - strong line-up so far (and very 90's!).

Funny, when i seen his twitter post i thought the exact same thing! When he said something along the lines of "you should find out in a week or so" that coincides with the next Download anouncement next Wednesday. So its looking like there is a good chance of hime being in the next anouncement.
Wednesday 1st February, keep an eye out!!
Maybe mid afternoon on the second stage or high up on the 3rd? If he is on the 3rd stage i just hope it isnt Saturday cos thats looking like a corker of a day so i wouldnt want him to clash with anyone, so im hoping for maybe late 3rd stage on the Friday or mid 2nd stage.
Having said that though, we could be completely wrong and the good news could be that Slash is guesting on the new pledge album! Hmmm, not sure which would make me more happy!!!

Yep, he's been added, along with Terrorvision, and Megadeth, and Kyuss Lives. To be fair, the Sunday line-up is making me hard right now...

Yeah. I've seen the poster. How do you know the days? I was really hoping he would be Friday. I don't tend to be on the best form by Sunday at these things.

Ginger, Ugly Kid Joe and Metallica. They are my must sees. The rest is pure craic.

*Edit scrap that. I assume you're talking about the likes of Sabbath etc. Ginger still doesn't know which day he's playing. I, like him, hope it's Friday.

Ginger has said that he doesnt know what day he will be playing yet but he hopes to be on Friday. With Slash headlining second stage on the Friday, if Ginger plays earlier on the same day i think i might just jizz into my overly priced pint of flat Tuborg! And drink it!

I like that the Download page has Terrorvision down as 'Yorkshire Rockers', whilst Ginger is a 'British Rocker'. Couldn't remember which bit of the country he's from perhaps?

As a WH fan, who enjoys riffy melodic rockage, what other bands on this line up should I check out? Any classics I should go and listen to?

I know Ugly Kid Joe, Terrorvision, of course, but bands like Rise Against, Little Angels, would they float my boat?

You should definitely check out Devin Townsend, if you hadn't already planned to that is :)

Don't know about Rise Against, but I can't see any reason you couldn't add Little Angels to that list. Most of their stuff's great, but Jam in particular is still one of my all-time favourite albums.

Rise against are more punk based . their last album , Endgame, is awesome.

If you like good old 80's rock then you need to check out Reckless Love. Very Van Halen! Im just praying for no clashes but until they say who's playing on what stage/what day we wont know.

Couldn't find Jam on spotify. However I kinda like what I'm hearing. I would have loved this when I was 16.

Quite liking Rise Against as well. Nothing really going "LISTEN TO ME! LISTEN TO ME!" yet, but the overall sound is really good.
