Gingersphere

Postby lost johnny » 10th Apr 12, 20:26

Saw the posts about Formspring and had a butchers just to see...read a thingy that gave me possibly a dumb idea but hey, we're all friends here right? Q asked has Ginger ever wanted to organise a festival, his A suggested yes, but it's difficult to get support; so given the wild success of the Pledge, is there any way of setting something up using the same approach?

Hmm, that looks a lot more naive on screen than in my head but bugger it...

Wrong section btw, in case anyone jumps on you for it.

I'd like a Ginger-fest of Ginger related bands, side projects from WH and some longtime 'mates' of his who WH have toured with over the years.

The Wildhearts (GInger, CJ, Rich and Danny line up)
Ginger and the Sonic Circus
Therapy?
Silver Ginger 5
Honeycrack (pleeeeaaseee!)
God Dam Whores
Wolfsbane
The Almighty
The Yo-Yo's
Eureka Machines
Bag o'shite

I suppose it depends on you definition of a festival. i can't see a big outside event happening, but a smaller all day event in a venue could work, such as the punk festivals that seem to spring up all over the place.
why do i have to ignore you to get your attention?

Oops, mostly my operation of a computer is like a drunk throwing a pound of sausages at a keyboard....

I think the intent of the original question was around something indoor and low key - I like your bill mind, just needs Cheap Trick.

Ginger said he'd rather slash his wrists than have anything to do with Danny (and Stidi) again, so I think that line-up and the Yo-Yos on the bill would never happen.

A pledge for the event could probably work if someone knew what the budget would be, but it's a lot of bands to pay. I guess the more expensive pledges could have meet and greets, some sort of merchandise and the like thrown in.

Getting all the bands to sign on and organise it would be a hell of a task.

It's a big list - no idea what was the original intent on Formspring was, just thought it was an interesting topic... Be a lot easier if a smaller list of bands, then again the birthday bash is pretty sussed already.

Sounds amazing, I reckon getting a Butlins type idea like Hard Rock Hell over a weekend would be great.

I think you need to be a little less demanding on Mr G's time through. How about some album run throughs from Ginger & WHs, or acoustics slots. Even have a WH themed disco!! & of course some related bands and friends, etc.
