i love terrorvision and Tony is a legend but i fail to see how singing about whales and dolphins, and the whole world camping in your back garden, is much different form old men singing about castles etc..

To be fair, there's a difference between using whales, dolphins and camping as some kind of extended metaphor and actually singing about castles.

As opposed to Scarborough where they were singing around a castle!

There was already quite a buzz around Ginger when he was 'just' a guitarist from the Quireboys.

I would say "ah, nostalgia" - but I was 9 and listening to Cotton Eye Joe when that all happened.

I've always wondered whether the quote in this news item was a mishearing. Was Ginger's apparently hyperbolic claim to have written "at least 45 albums' worth" of songs actually a more realistic, though still impressive, "at least 4 to 5 albums' worth"?

I might be wrong, and it doesn't matter either way as it was just an off-the-cuff comment to sell a new band, but still... every time I see this cutting I ponder whether the news editor needed his ears syringing. And I've just done it again.

Despite being a bit of a hoarder I lost one of my favourite Wildhearts features years ago.

I think it was in RAW and possibly penned by Neil Jeffries- it's an article in which Ginger recounts the 'falling down the stairs with a bottle of whisky, would've slit my wrists if it had broken' story, I think there are some other Ginger quotes like 'at least we've got a bit of fucking history'.

The headline was possibly 'nothing ever changes but the shoes'.

If anyone could find it, it would be much appreciated if you could post it on here.
